C&SFF - Perla
Set in the early 1980s, Perla follows a Slovak dissident artist living in exile in Vienna. Her carefully constructed life is disrupted when she is forced to return to communist Czechoslovakia by her former partner. The journey back reopens unresolved relationships and memories shaped by life under an oppressive regime. Moving between worlds that feel both familiar and distant, Perla confronts the emotional cost of choices made under political pressure and begins to make rash decisions that jeopardize her future with her daughter.
